Except for some tumultuous years during and after college, I've had a happy life with husband Lew Bennett in Wilmington, Delaware. We raised two kids who have gone on to their own marriages and, I hope, happy lives. We have two grandchildren in Yonkers who attend the Schechter School in Westchester where their mother teaches.

Our junior high librarian encouraged me to become a librarian and I never really considered another career. Most of my adult life I was a medical librarian working in the major medical center in Delaware. I had the pleasure of working with great people and had the resources to do innovative projects. My favorite was going to teaching rounds with the residents and hearing about the newly admitted patients. Then I'd do the literature searching for answer the residents' clinical questions. Occasionally, my work made an immediate difference in a patient's care.

I took early retirement to travel to China and Tibet in 2007. Lew and I had a great trip and were away for almost six weeks. I went back to work part-time, and did some teaching and consulting. Lew says I also had an unpaid job as president of my congregation. Now I am fully retired and organizing my synagogue's library and archives.

In addition to synagogue leadership, I have been active in a number of community organizations over the years.

Retirement has allowed me to help care for my parents in their later years and to be a hands-on grandmother. I have been able to do yoga almost daily and work-out at the gym a few times a week. Although Lew has some health challenges, we've been able to travel to places beyond Yonkers. I am writing this from Calgary before we drive into the Canadian Rockies. Other great trips have included the Galapagos, Peru and much of Central America. Last year we took Amtrak from outside San Francisco to Wilmington with a stop over in Chicago. It was amazing to watch the breadth of the country roll by.

I will be in Canada until just before reunion, so may not have any old photos to post. I cleaned up my iPad photos, too so I think I have only one possible photo to post.
